This initiative consists of designing and executing long-term guidelines that allow us to safeguard our integrity as a company, preventing events related to money laundering, corruption, financing of terrorism and environmental contamination. It is a policy of vital importance for us, because, in addition to reinforcing our organizational values, it brings us closer to people, creating a strong bond based on transparency.
An environmental care perspective
Four years ago, in order to consolidate a culture of good corporate governance, in Hayduk, we decided to start the process of preparing such a policy. In this first stage, we begin by gathering all the possible information, making a study of the regulations and evaluating all our needs and characteristics so that they adjust to it.
Thus, as fishermen, we defined that our program should include compliance with environmental regulations. This point, although it is not a requirement promulgated by the State, represents one of the most important aspects of our corporate ethics.
Today we are one of the first companies in the industry to incorporate this issue into its Corporate Compliance, and it is a further measure to self-demand the performance of a responsible and committed management of the sea, the environment, and people.
This implies the total rejection of any attempt or act of contamination, as well as the bad administration of solid waste and, above all, the illegal extraction of species. All these acts are strongly condemned by Hayduk.
Corporate Compliance Hayduk underway
After defining the approach, our next step was the application of this new policy, which was carried out last year. First, we execute a strategy of permanent dissemination to all employees through internal means, in addition to implementing a training tour in all our plants that will be developed throughout 2019.
Thus, our workers can internalize the program and integrate it into their day-to-day activities in Hayduk, being active agents in the prevention and reporting of cases referred to above (today we already have a chapter on Corporate Compliance in our processes of induction).
Another of the pillars of this initiative is external diffusion since we seek that our main allies share these values. For this reason, we have integrated this concept into our supplier approval processes, which receive complete information on all our procedures and can be aligned with Hayduk's policies.
What remains to be done?
We are currently initiating an international certification process that corroborates all the guidelines outlined in our policy. With this we continue forward committed to bringing quality nutrition to all of Peru and the world, always based on transparent and responsible management, and to contribute to spreading good corporate practices in our industry. ¡Let's move forward!
