Even though
the virus does not affect the fish, there has been a change on the demand from
the consumers, the access to the markets or logistics problems related to
transportation and restrictions in the border. At the same time, the perception
of some countries, somehow erroneous, has caused a decreasing in the
consumption of sea food, what has resulted in a drop of the prices of these
products.
The different
activities that are necessary to bring fish and its derivative products to the
consumers are complex. Every link on this supply chain is susceptible to interruptions
because of the pandemic, therefore, we must be very carefull on each process
and each fish distribution stage to make sure it is the most appropriate for its
transport and subsequent consumption. In this way, negative thoughts from some
countries regarding this issue are prevented. All the top organizations have
certifications which guarantee the standards compliance on each process, but it
is also needed the understanding from the consumers to trust on the fish
products, without fear of infection.
In Hayduk we
are advocates that each one of our processes comply with the standards that
allow us to offer quality products for human consumption. Our processes have
the most important international certifications and we are commited to continue
bringing the best of our sea to the entire world.
